Teamcompete Unveils First Sponsored Team Program for Online Xbox Live Competitive Play

Friday, July 8th, 2011

Houston, TX (PRWEB) November 25, 2005

TeamcompeteTM today disclosed the first program of its kind for Online Team sponsorships supporting Xbox Live competitive console game play. Teamcompete is providing sponsorships to several teams that are members on the site in return for their participation and leadership within the console gaming community playing Xbox Live based games. Sponsored teams will be highlighted on the site and will also play under the Teamcompete banner when participating in offline tournaments.

?We don?t have a limit or quota we are looking at with this program?, said the Veeg, founder of Teamcompete. ?The program is open to all member teams and we will bring in as many teams that we can qualify through the integrity and professionalism screening evaluations we conduct. The leadership that these professional teams bring to a site can be invaluable in helping to establish an atmosphere of respect and fair play well beyond what a basic rules page, or Code of Conduct can offer.? He also noted that the maturity levels of both the online console gaming community and the teams participating at the highest levels have risen to the point that the natural leaders and the most respected teams need to be identified and recognized as examples and role models to the newer, developing teams.

The first sponsorships have been awarded to the following Xbox Live Teams. They are ready to take on all challenges and can be contacted on the Teamcompete site:

U4A?Up for Anything. A team that plays, as their name suggests, multiple games

8DV?Eight Deadly Venoms.

UAC–Urban Assault Chickens.

First Responders–A team made up of Police, Fire, EMS and Military professionals.

Beyond Xbox Live online play: In addition to the online component of the sponsorship program there will also be an offline or ?traveling team? component developed for participation in local gaming events offline. In early November the first sponsored 2-person team played under the Teamcompete banner and placed second in the King of the Couch sponsored, KOTC Halo2 tournament in Dallas TX. Teamcompete promised more of both the online and offline participation over the next year.

The program is in its infancy and will have many additional features developed and incorporated that will eventually encompass commercial sponsorship of teams as found in all professional sports leagues. For this initial phase, Teamcompete is limiting the true sponsorship efforts to themselves to work out program details and allow for marketing and promotion to prospective commercial sponsors beginning in 2006.

TeamcompeteTM Becomes the First Online Competition Site to Support Both Xbox and Xbox360 Online Games

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

Houston, TX (PRWEB) November 28, 2005

TeamcompeteTM today announced that they are supporting leagues and team challenge play for the new Xbox360 game titles launching for Microsoft?s new generation console gaming system the Xbox360. Teamcompete.com was launched in 2003 to support the original Xbox and has now added support for the next generation console — the Xbox360.

?We deliberately architected our system to support multiple consoles with the Xbox360 becoming the second console supported along side the original Xbox?, said the Veeg, Teamcompete founder. With the launch of several games specific to the Xbox360 platform and other games promised to be backwards compatible, it will be important at some time to be able to differentiate play in the ?old? and the ?new? Xbox consoles. Teamcompete is ready with that capability today.

Once additional specifics of the Xbox360 are announced and known to the gaming public, Teamcompete promises a closer integration with the games and the console as they were able to do with the original Xbox. ?We?re the only site that is focused exclusively on Xbox and Xbox360 competitive online team play?, said the Veeg. ?We are looking to gradually add Playstation and other consoles but for now or focus remains squarely on the Microsoft family of consoles. We have always innovated gaming and competitive improvements for the Xbox and will be looking to do the same with the Xbox360 in the coming months.?

Teamcompete is a member supported community of Xbox Live gamers playing in Amateur, Sports and Professional levels of league play. Individual membership is on an annual basis and runs from $ 15-$ 40 depending on the product bundle selected. Every member of the Microsoft Xbox Live gaming community is eligible to participate on Teamcompete at no cost, however, with the limitations of not being able to participate in playoffs or prize tournaments if they are not paid members. Anyone with an Xbox or Xbox360 who joins the Microsoft Xbox Live network can participate fully in the Teamcompete Amateur League, join or form a team, and challenge and compete against the Teamcompete members and other unregistered teams on the site. Additional details are posted on the Teamcompete web site at http://www.teamcompete.com//TC3Portal/PortalSub.asp?articleid=340&zoneid=11
