TeamcompeteTM Becomes the First Online Competition Site to Support Both Xbox and Xbox360 Online Games

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

Houston, TX (PRWEB) November 28, 2005

TeamcompeteTM today announced that they are supporting leagues and team challenge play for the new Xbox360 game titles launching for Microsoft?s new generation console gaming system the Xbox360. Teamcompete.com was launched in 2003 to support the original Xbox and has now added support for the next generation console — the Xbox360.

?We deliberately architected our system to support multiple consoles with the Xbox360 becoming the second console supported along side the original Xbox?, said the Veeg, Teamcompete founder. With the launch of several games specific to the Xbox360 platform and other games promised to be backwards compatible, it will be important at some time to be able to differentiate play in the ?old? and the ?new? Xbox consoles. Teamcompete is ready with that capability today.

Once additional specifics of the Xbox360 are announced and known to the gaming public, Teamcompete promises a closer integration with the games and the console as they were able to do with the original Xbox. ?We?re the only site that is focused exclusively on Xbox and Xbox360 competitive online team play?, said the Veeg. ?We are looking to gradually add Playstation and other consoles but for now or focus remains squarely on the Microsoft family of consoles. We have always innovated gaming and competitive improvements for the Xbox and will be looking to do the same with the Xbox360 in the coming months.?

Teamcompete is a member supported community of Xbox Live gamers playing in Amateur, Sports and Professional levels of league play. Individual membership is on an annual basis and runs from $ 15-$ 40 depending on the product bundle selected. Every member of the Microsoft Xbox Live gaming community is eligible to participate on Teamcompete at no cost, however, with the limitations of not being able to participate in playoffs or prize tournaments if they are not paid members. Anyone with an Xbox or Xbox360 who joins the Microsoft Xbox Live network can participate fully in the Teamcompete Amateur League, join or form a team, and challenge and compete against the Teamcompete members and other unregistered teams on the site. Additional details are posted on the Teamcompete web site at http://www.teamcompete.com//TC3Portal/PortalSub.asp?articleid=340&zoneid=11

Surfing the Web on Wireless PDAs and Smartphones with pdaPortal.com

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

(PRWEB) July 6, 2004

If you have ever tried surfing the web on a wireless PDA or smartphone, or if you do so regularly, you know that you need a directory of PDA-friendly web sites, formatted for the small screen and low bandwidth of a handheld. And that?s why I created http://www.pdaPortal.com just over one year ago.

By now, http://www.pdaPortal.com is way more than a directory of web sites for handhelds. It is a true portal for PDA?s offering free and customized services.

All visitors to http://www.pdaPortal.com have immediate access to:

PDA-friendly web sites

RSS/XML headline news feeds formatted for a PDA

Weather search

Web search

Stock quotes search

Search of pdaPortal site

Major stock indices on main page

Registered users have also access to:

Personalized list of PDA-friendly web sites

Personalized list of RSS/XML headline news feeds

Ability to save links to full-screen RSS/XML news to see them on a desktop PC

Ability to add their own links

Personalized weather

Personalized movies

Personalized stock quotes

Chat Rooms

Access to external POP email

List of recent searches

Display of location and local date and time

Ability to port all of the above customized settings to a different device or access them from a desktop PC

And more, coming all the time!

Naturally, http://www.pdaPortal.com remains one of the best directories of web sites formatted for the small screen, containing more than 650 PDA-friendly web sites in 13 languages, which can be accessed by 20 categories, popularity, alphabetical order, language, or via keyword search.

Since its creation in the spring of 2003, http://www.pdaPortal.com has grown substantially, in terms of coverage (number of PDA-friendly sites), functionality and usage (hits). In its short life http://www.pdaPortal.com has already received well over 2.5 million hits from hundreds of thousands of unique users, who have used it to access its 650+ PDA-friendly sites over one million times.

About two months ago I began registering users to be able to offer customized functions to them. Since then, a new user has registered with http://www.pdaPortal.com every hour, adding now to about 2,400 registered users from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Philippines, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, UK, USA, and Vietnam.

http://www.pdaPortal.com is a personal, non-commercial site I developed for my own use, because I couldn?t find anything similar available. Whenever I shared it in discussion groups, I got strong, positive feedback. Many other people had the same need and liked what I had put together. Therefore, I decided to make it publicly available and it became my hobby.

Feel free to use it and spread the word!
